New Maruader Mustang

Thanks for the responses guys… <!– s:D –><!– s:D –>

This new machine really is the cats meow..hehe
I can smooth a model like the Mustang 3 to 5 times in just over a minute. No way I could do that with the old one.

Bazza,
I will be keeping the old Mustang around for a while yet. I still like the way it looks also.

Vulcan Foundry,
My problems weren’t as drastic as yours but very troublesome to say the least. The agrivation alone just about drove me nuts. Hope you get up and running again soon.

Alan,
Thanks man. Hopefully I’ll be able to turn out some new models on the weekends with all this new found speed…hehehe

Les

P.S.
I have popped in from time to time in the last few months and seen lots of great models being posted by everyone. Keep up the fantastic modeling folks… <!– s:D –><!– s:D –>

Hi Everyone,
I haven’t been around much lately due to long work hours and my old machine constantly breaking down. Well I have my brand new machine now, an all Intel 32bit system with 3.2G CPU, 1G DDR Memory, and an ATI Radeon 9800 Pro VidCard. The speed of this machine is unbelievable hehe. Oh yeah, it has the RAID dual 80gig HDD also.

Anyway enough bragging..LOL Here’s a shot of the old Marauder Mustang I made some time back.

Now here’s a shot of the new and hopefully improved version. I dont have POV installed yet so Im just rendering in 3DC only for now. Let me know what you think of both models.. <!– s:) –><!– s:) –>

Hi Les,

Thats a real nice new mean machine you,ve got, the specs are identical to mine. It makes all the difference when things fun fast and smooth. <!– s:D –><!– s:D –>
I’ve found the ATI card to be fantastic.

I like the lines of the new Marauder, much more graceful, but I think the old one looks more menacing.

Glad you’re back.

Bazza

Thats excellent as always Les, Good work. I know what its like having a system that can be troublesome at best. I lost my main system recently due to a motherboard practically melting down and shorting due to a faulty transformer blowing up outside our house. It even took out the surge protector, so now its time to wait for insurance compensation. At least I had a backup copy of the hard drive stored elsewhere, but its back to using my old painful faithful which is a Celeron 900Mhz and GeForce 2 MX400. On more complex models I can go and make a coffee and come back to find it still crunching numbers ! <!– s:( –><!– s:( –>

ARRGGHHH….The pain of it all !

Nice to see you back Les and I like the second picture best <!– s:) –><!– s:) –>
