Need help making a Bell Hanger

Hi Bill,
I’m not sure what shape you want but I think you can use the following sequence to get what you might want.

First select a cube[img:mph2frny]http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h41/wmalder/Bell%20Hanger/BellHanger1.jpg[/img:mph2frny]

Select opposite faces, extrude and move down while constraining ‘Y’.[img:mph2frny]http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h41/wmalder/Bell%20Hanger/BellHanger2.jpg[/img:mph2frny]

Select the lowest edge, constrain ‘Y’ and move the edge up[img:mph2frny]http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h41/wmalder/Bell%20Hanger/BellHanger3.jpg[/img:mph2frny]

Adjust the edge using ‘X’ and the scale option to maintain symmetry[img:mph2frny]http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h41/wmalder/Bell%20Hanger/BellHanger3.jpg[/img:mph2frny]

Then extrude the faces[img:mph2frny]http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h41/wmalder/Bell%20Hanger/BellHanger5.jpg[/img:mph2frny]

Select the lowest points or edge and move them upwards again constraining ‘Y’ until they create two level plains[img:mph2frny]http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h41/wmalder/Bell%20Hanger/BellHanger6.jpg[/img:mph2frny]

Select them and extrude them[img:mph2frny]http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h41/wmalder/Bell%20Hanger/BellHanger8.jpg[/img:mph2frny]

Then constraining ‘Y’, lengthen to taste and there is a crude bell hanger as I envision it.[img:mph2frny]http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h41/wmalder/Bell%20Hanger/BellHanger9.jpg[/img:mph2frny]

I hope that’s of some help.

I want to build a Bell Hanger using the Extrude Object Tool, but I find it is very difficult to make both sides perfectly symmetrical. Is there any way to draw one side and then ‘mirror’ or ‘copy and flip’ that side to make the second side?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions, Bill
