Hi everyone,
Well, still keeping with my ideas for more srteamlined ships, here is the final verion of the Manta(version 5). I did this one out of just one cube, with extruding, scaling, etc. The only extras are the Seat, Canopy, Missiles, and Engine Glow(translucent spheres). Every other part was either extruded, recessed, or scaled to get the appearance that I wanted. I’m still not adding a lot of textures, mainly just painting.

This fighter will be the best in the fleet. The fastest, most manuverable, and most heavily armed for a fast attack fighter. Let me know what you think.

Hi Les,

It turned out excellent.

What’s up next for you? Any ideas yet?

Richard,
Thanks. Well, I’m not really sure just yet about what to do next. I still have some work to finish on some of the other models, landing gear and such, but I thought since I used to drive the big rigs over the road, I might try my hand at modelling an 18 wheeler. I still have some other fighter ideas I’m toying with also, but nothing concrete yet.
I guess I’ll just have to say stay tuned…..hehehe.

PS: How did you like the animation? Did it work ok?

Les,

Sorry for not responding about the animation sooner. I have been busy trying to catch up on my communications.

I got the animation and thought it turned out quite good. Exactly the landing I would expect from a spacecraft.

Richard,
I’m glad you liked the animation. As soon as I get the gear, doors, etc. working on Manta_5, I’m going to do an animation showing it coming in to land also. I just want to speed up the frame rate until the last few seconds of the landing, and maybe have it coming from a little farther away. I’ll let you know when it’s done.
