Love your model, can’t wait till I can Do something Like that

Hi All,
Here’s the Mako fighter finished in MegaPov. Some of you may remember it from the old forums.
It was created in 3DC Pro from a sphere, with the usual addons; seat, canopy, guns, missiles, etc.

In this scene, you can see the reflectivity of the ships surface, but not enough to overwhelm the whole scene.

Very nice, is the bg andquot;galaxy.incandquot;?

Brendan,
Yes the background is one of those in Galaxy.inc, with a few minor changes. I added the galaxy at bottom right, and re-positioned the big star and nebula slightly.
Thanks, Les….. <!– s:) –><!– s:) –>

THEBEAST,
Thanks,
I wrote a short tutorial for one of the models that I created. You can find the link to it on the tutorials page of this website. I try to keep my models as simple as possible in design, and created this one(Mako) out of just a sphere, with a few addons like guns, missiles, seat, and canopy. You will need the Pro version of 3DC for cutting out areas(boolean subtractions) like the cockpit, etc.
The Eagle fighter(the one in the tutorial) was created from a cube with a few addons. The same goes for the Manta_5 fighter that is featured on the Gallery page here.

P.S.
The hard part for me is doing the finishing touches to the surface textures, colors, etc. Learning to use MegaPov(unofficial version of PovRay) has been a real experience because I’m not too swift when it comes to writing code. I’m learning though…… <!– s:) –><!– s:) –>
