Hi to all,
the 24 I’ve uploaded an image of a stilized Chistmas tree rendered with POV-Ray on the image feedback board, but now I’ve seen that there is only a light source in a candle. andnbsp;???
In the original object there is a yellow point light source into every flame (every candle flames are transparent) but only one is rendered.
I’ve tried to export the scene in .POV and see the source and if I cut the line of the working light the scene is without lights, even if in the source is full of it.

Any idea?

When you export to POV are the lights in the export file?

I was just looking at the christmastree file again and I have a question. Did you leave the Parralell light sources in 3DC as they were?(lights at front left corner of 3DC grid)
The reason I ask is that if you are using Yellow lights to illuminate the flames, and white or lightgray parralell lights, then the parralell lights could be cancelling out or overpowering the Yellow lights, as Richard suggests.
Try setting the parralell lights to black or darkgray, export to PovRay again, and see if your Yellow lights show up then.

Perhaps one of the lights is overpowering the remaining lights. Or perhaps there is a POVRay setting to limit the number of lights used? Pretty odd.

Here’s a little better picture. I lowered the color values of the light_sources so that they are not so bright.

There is no other light in this scene, just the flame/lights.

I think I may have located the problem. You should group(in 3DC) each light_source to the flame that it represents. This way PovRay will keep the light with the flame.
In your code the light_sources are not placed with the flame code, which may be causing the problem.

In the picture below, I have placed a point light inside each flame, grouped it to the flame, then grouped the flame to the candle. This way if I move the candle, the flame and light_source moves with it.
Also, you will need to keep the andquot;Attenuationandquot; value low(in 3DC), about a .1 or .2 should do, and keep the andquot;Fade_Powerandquot; high in PovRay(about 15), or else the light from just one flame can overwhelm the whole scene.
