Is this correct?

Hello

I have alot of textures in my media folder (400ish maybe more?). Does this effect loading times? If so I did not know this.

Where then would be the best place to save these?

James

I have noticed, that when I’m workin on object with about 1000 points, 3DC (6.0.2.4) takes 300 mb of ram. Loading the model takes forever, and so does closing 3DC. Should it do like this? I have no large textures in the libraries, only about ten 128×128 sized textures. Most of the textures are used in the model.

Hi

Thanks Timo, for the information…but these files are not actualy in the texture libraries. I have them in the texture folder inside of the 3DC folder, and are then sorted into texture types in seperate folders.

The reason I have placed them here is, when I’m rendering with POV I get errors if the textures are not in the right folders…. placing them here seemed to fix it for me.

Thanks, andnbsp; andnbsp; andnbsp; andnbsp; andnbsp; James

I think Richard said that the size of the textures you have in your texture libraries in 3DC effect the loading times, as they are loaded to the memory when 3DC loads.

I got that sorted out now, I don’t know why didn’t I think this before, but all I had to do was to Compact the object. Now 3DC uses only 50mb ram. andnbsp;:P

Another thing, I noticed also that sometimes when I use the Operation Adjustment tool after painting the model (so I adjust the texture mapping), it messes up my model completely. Most of the points get some random position (well, I guess it is random, at least it looks like it). Any ideas on this?

EDIT: It seems that I can’t reproduce the problem enymore, maybe it was caused by the large number of layers. andnbsp;:P andnbsp;:-/
