Import size constraints?

I suppose one way would be to zoom in a whole bunch before you start making crap in 3ds, but that doesn’t help much if you are importing someone else’s work (comes in handy for props)

good to see ya round bazza

in trying to import a 3ds model, though it appears normal in 3d max, on import its roughly the size of godzilla compared to a Tokyo trolly. Is there some way to control the size of the titan as its being imported? For instance, if I’m importing various objects into the same scene, the size difference becomes rough to manage (where with one object a simple resize would do the trick)

I don’t think you can get round this problem. 3ds models are always very large compared to 3DC.

One way, maybe, would be to convert the file first to one of the smaller file formats. Both Lightwave and Wavefront produce files that are close to 3DC scale.
