Hi Bazza…
Oh yeah – that’s what I forgot… Earlier on – I had played around with creating a shadow box for everything under the running boards… Just a basic shape – textured black – and – alpha’d out with a feathered edge… It darkened up the lower half of the loco with really nice results… It even shadowed the top part of the drivers… LOL – always something left to do…
Appreciate the help – sir !!!

Sorry I missed this one.
It looks to be coming along really well, nice modeling.

Hi Bazza,
I have always admired your narrow gauge equipment – those outside frame locos take some real skill – I’m sure… Andre Ming at V-Scale I believe is working on a Colorado Narrow Gauge payware route now…
Thanks for the feedback – coming from you – that’s a definite compliment – sir… Actually – while I have been absent for a while – if it wasn’t for all the help I received from you and Paul and Pete and Vulcan Foundry and Buzz Benz and Bill Hobbs – etc etc etc – on my first model – I probably would have never started this one… You guys really lead me through the whole process…

It’s a Lehigh and Hudson River 4-8-2 Heavy Mountain…

Sexy – right ???
It’s my hometown railroad which Rich S. did a superb job of representing recently – so I just had to do it… ‘1940’s LandHR’ available on TS site…

This is my second attempt at making a 3D model so I’m still a newb – it takes me forever to get things right – LOL…
Here is where I am at now: about 85% done with modeling… 0% on textures… I just put the locomotive and tender together for the first time last night…

I think you are getting me mixed up with Captain Bazza from one of the rail sim sites. <!– s:) –><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_smile.gif" alt="" title="Smile" /><!– s:) –>
I’m the 3DC Bazza…not related. <!– s:) –><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_smile.gif" alt="" title="Smile" /><!– s:) –>
If this is only your second attempt it’s a VERY good one, I don’t think I would have chosen such a complex subject when I first got started.
Hope you can maintain this standard when you apply the textures, it certainly desrves a nice texture set.

Hi Bazza…
DOH… Sorry for the confusion…
Well – you – were the Bazza that helped me a great deal with my first model – so – the one that counts in my book !!! LOL…

I had noticed some PIX elseware of some very nice narrow gauge equipment – sorry – I thought it was yours…
Ok OK – I confess – it’s my third model – I did build the whale following the newb tutorial here to learn the ropes… Between you and me – the whale did not come out very good…

All,
Thanks 3DC – still a work in in progress – as I have more texture work to do…
The model is pretty much where I want it with the exception of LOD’s…

Hi Scott,
Very impressive set of images, pleased you stuck at it.
My only comment would be that in some of the full daylight shots the colours look a bit washed out, maybe try to get something like this
[img:3kkylwh3]http://img638.imageshack.us/img638/474/sfcan0312.jpg[/img:3kkylwh3]
Maybe some extra shading under the boiler as well?
The last image in your set looks just about right, spot on, great job. <!– s:D –><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_biggrin.gif" alt="" title="Very Happy" /><!– s:D –>
