Grass, buildings, hair, billboards…

Glad you like it. andnbsp;It didn’t seriously expect anyone to do my debugging for me, though <!– s:-) –><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_smile.gif" alt=":-)" title="Smile" /><!– s:-) –>))

I’ll actually be doing some modelling with it soon, so may get down to solving the trig problems. andnbsp;Or next week…

Hi all

A few weeks ago I was working on a plugin to copy objects onto another object. andnbsp;This would turn a blade of grass into a lawn, for example. andnbsp;But I had to start renovating a house and I haven’t seen a computer since. andnbsp;The plugin half works so I thought I’d let it loose in draft form (gamma, delta?) for anyone interested. andnbsp;

The bit that works copies objects as shown on the screen, rotates them ans scales them as directed and puts them on another object. andnbsp;The bit that is broken aligns the objects to the normals of the faces copied to.

It’s called graciascloner, which was a puerile joke based on my trial object shown below with grass on it. andnbsp;This grass has a density of 150 – that is the blades are 1.5 times the number of faces, and rotated randomly a little bit. andnbsp;I make no attempt to see if objects are created where there is a previous object.

You can get the plugin here:

No documentation and no help, but if you want to use it and need info, let me know. andnbsp;My response time depends on the plumber.

You need a fairly recent version (5.53 release C??? – where are we up to). andnbsp;And if you feel like debugging it, or even adding to it, go for your lives.

Hey wow,

This is great. andnbsp;This is what I have been looking for. andnbsp;I would love to help if I can but haven’t programed in years. andnbsp;I have tried the plug in out and it works great except for what you said. andnbsp;I will look into it to see if there is anything that I can do to help.
Thanks,
Ken
