First attempt at human form

Alex,
Oops, I must have missed that tutorial…. ;D
Kinda like when we were in school and didn’t want to do all that reading teacher wanted us to.
I haven’t worked much more with the man, but eventually I want to get him into a sitting position, shrink him a little and put him in my fighters, but lots more to do before that.
I’ll keep in mind that you are working with skeletons cause I will surely need help with it…. ;D

Hi Y’all,
The head is a converted 3ds file from the web. The rest I did.
I know it still needs lots of work, but I’d like to get some input from anyone and everyone. This is my first human so tell me how I can make it better, besides the hands and feet(bad).

It looks a bit like a ‘fat’ manequin as the joints are too sharp. I would sugest replacing the stretched spheres of the different limbs with boxes and then merging everything together and then smooth it out.

Nekar,
I forgot to mention that I used the skeleton in 3DC to work with. The boxes would cut down the poly-count, at least till I smooth it, but the problem with merging would be that I would no longer be able to position the limbs, and I’m not sure yet how many positions I might need.
Thanks, Les

Sorry, I haven’t worked with the skeleton yet. I asumed the body would bend according to how you move the skeletons limbs.

An alternative might be to merge spheres into each limb on each joint, making sure they are on exactly the same position and then smooth it. For example: place two spheres at the elbow, exactly the same size and at exactly the same position. Merge one sphere into the forearm and one into the upper arm. Then smooth each one. I’m not sure if it would work but it won’t hurt to try? andnbsp;:)

Nekar,
I haven’t had much time to work on it lately, but what you suggest sounds good. I’ll rty to merge each body-part to it’s relative limb on the skeleton.
Thanks for the feedback.
Les
