export question

Yes, that is correct.

Richard

I have yet to use the Export Wizard. I have always exported manually.

My question is, if I model my articulated in 3dC as one piece, but set up to completely separate hierarchies, will 3dC export everything, or just what is in the MAIN hierarchy of the group I select for export? It is so much easier to model everything together, then delete one half at the end, and then export. (my current plan – see attached pic for example) But, it would be even better to not have to delete the unused for each part. Think how nice it is to model your tender directly behind your engine! Then export your engine, then your tender, without screwing up your set-up.

What got me thinking about this was that if you export a certain object/group, the rest of the groups/objects don’t show up in TrainSim. Is this because they aren’t exported (and wasting space/memory) or because of the usual issue… TrainSim is just plain difficult? ]:(

Thank you

That leaves one question, will 3dC only write into the S file the textures that are applied to each separate object? andnbsp; There are separate wheel textures and such for the engine. andnbsp; As long as none are applied to the tender, will that mean just the tender texture will be required in the tender folder?

Wow, good news. andnbsp;I can actually do things the easy way for once.

If you export a group hierarchy (via the right-click export method) only that group hierarchy is exported. So yes, you can model separate hierarchies together and export them individually.
