Error in Extrude, Lathe, and Alph. …

Hi, DOM107…. THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!! It was a Video Driver issue. I went to ATI and that fixed the problem. All three Object Building Tools work great, Thank You again.

Hi Everyone,
I am having trouble with the object building tools and I don’t know how to fix it. I have uninstalled 3DC … totally deleting all. I re-downloaded it again … making a fresh install, with no luck.
I would have sent a pic, 80mb won’t permit it.

Thank you in advance,

Hi and Thank You BigPeter,
The pic is a desktop screenshot of 3DC showing a curved line in the extrude funtion with the ‘Top 2 Panes’ black. I placed the curved line for reference only.

The same thing happens if I use any of the object building tools. Please note that the progress load bar(bottom right corner) had stopped and does hang for ten minutes or more. I can click out of the OBT and continue to use other areas of 3dc.

I am an ornamental Blacksmith and use 3DC for in planning metal work.

Thank You again,

Hi,

First you have to make a backdrop drawing of the object you want to make.

See [img:36d2rmiv]http://www.3DC.com/3DCDocumentation/tutorialcrosssection1.htm[/img:36d2rmiv]
this
tutorial for more information about the extrude object tool.

Hi again, The problem I am having is that when I drag n drop any of the Object Building Tools (Lathe, Extrude, or 3D Text), it just does not finish loading in. There are 4 panes in that window and the TOP 2 are Black with NO X,Y,Z axis marker tools. Keeping in good spirits with this, I can’t play ‘Connect The Dots’. Doesn’t work.
Example if using Extrude: you place the first point(green), then you place the other points(white or blue), and the your last point is placed on top of the green making it solid. Then in the other pane you decide on how thick your design will be. The window loads half-way in locks-up. I can exit and go back to the Main screen but, the Object Building Tools fail (all 3), fail to work….

AND, I just noticed that the X,Y,Z roll-overs(in the bottom left corner(s) ARE THERE I just can’t see them. I discovered this by rolling over the corners. My mouse pointer turned into arrows and plus signs… so, they are there but, the controls are as black as the screen or backdrop. Note: I do not have the vertical grid planes on.
How do I fix this?

Sincerely,

P.S.: ‘ Thank You for your help.

… And from that picture, I made a tool I could use. So, THANK YOU, Amabilis Software.

Hello,

What is your PC configuration?
Is it the one described in your profile:
‘Dell 2350 / Windows Home ver. ServicePack:XP3 / Intel Celeron / 1.70GHz. / 1.69GHz. 384MB RAM’
I’m wondering if 384 MB RAM is enough.

Which video card is installed (Intel 3D Extreme Graphics?)? With which driver version? Did you try changing the video drivers?

Your problem:

… sounds like a memory or video driver problem.
