Hello,
I am receiving an "unrecoverable error" message (code #91) at startup (version 9.1). This is a new install, and previous versions have not been installed on this computer (running WinXP Pro). No splash screen is displayed. I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times. I have also tried installing version 8. Same error is received on startup. Both versions installed without any problems.
I was able to install and run version 9.1 on my work laptop without any issue. Any ideas? I paid for a Pro license and would like to be able to use on this computer. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Is this Windows XP 64 bit? A small number of people using 64 bit Windows are having problems. I am working to resolve it and am part way to finding a solution. If you technically oriented and want to participate in finding a solution, let me know. It’s a bit time consuming unfortunately.
I should mention that it seems that the problem does not occur on computers with fresh installs of Windows 64 bit, but is perhaps related to a conflict with one or more other programs that are installed.
I’m pretty confident a solution will be found, but as I said, it’s time consuming.

Hello,
Thank you for getting back to me. The system is a 32 bit WinXP Pro, Pentium4, ATI video card. I am more than happy to assist with troubleshooting and trying things out for you. I really want to get 3DCrafter working, as I have numerous assets to build for a Railworks route. If you wish to contact me via email, please use the email address attached to my forum user account. Thank you!

Another question. Some of us can’t run the demo because of this error, but the program did install. Are we going to be able to still get a demo when this error is fixed?

This error is very frustrating. I’m working on it, but because it doesn’t occur on my computer it is really hard to track down. I have a couple of people trying various "tests" on their computers in order to track down the problem. The problem is narrowed down to a relatively small pool of possible problems, but there is still more to try.

I was asked if I would help and said yes. I still will if wanted.
I have an interest in purchasing the program if I can demo it first.

I think the resolution to this is to install this: <!– m –>http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/de … n&id=24417<!– m –>
I haven’t received confirmation yet, but it seems very likely.

It might be that the registry entries for the file Msvbvm60.dll are not correct. To correct this:
1) right-click on "command prompt" under the start menu’s "accessories" and choose "run as administrator"
2) type: regsvr32 c:windowssystem32Msvbvm60.dll
(the location of this file may be different if you have Windows 64 bit)
3) press enter
You should get a message "succeeded".

I did a search on my winXP x64 system, and found MSVBVM60.DLL in c:windowssystem32 and also in c:windowsSysWOW64. This was expected.
I tried the system32 version first and got the succeeded message, but still received the error 91. So then I tried it using the 64 bit dll, got the "succeeded" message, but still get the 91 error.

A little more information, possibly related.
There’s a city modeling program called UrbanPAD that usually sells for $700 usd, but is on a special sale for $29 usd if they reach sales goal by October 3.
Anyway, I downloaded the demo and I’m having a similar problem — it won’t start. No errors; nothing. So there’s a long thread on their support board since many are having the same problem.
Since I’m interested in both applications, maybe something solved there will help here.

try the same regsvr32 process with the dx8vb.dll in system32 or syswow64

There is a new version of 3DCrafter available. It won’t likely resolve the problem, but included in it are new diagnostics intended to find the cause of the failure.
The first thing to do is to try 3DCrafter 9.1.1. If it fails to run, contact me at <!– e –>support2@amabilis.com<!– e –> and we can work on trying to straighten out the cause.
