Error #429 on install

Must be rare though. I’ve never seen it and I can break anything…

This will likely resolve it:

To correct the Windows registry entry for Microsoft Data Access Components open a Command Prompt and type: c:windowssystem32regsvr32 ‘C:Program FilesCommon FilesMicrosoft SharedDAODAO360.DLL’.

Note that if you have a non-English version of Windows you will need to replace the paths with those appropriate for your language. You can find the required paths by searching for ‘regsvr32.exe’ and ‘dao360.dll’.

Nope, I already tried that. However after I updated I removed and reinstalled 3DC just to be certain. I then ran the command you suggested again, a popup told me that the dll registered successfully but 3DC still gives me the same error (#429).

Any other ideas?

Thanks,

Tony

Hmmm… I should have read what you said more carefully. You did say you tried the regsvr command.

There’s a file called ‘3DC.log’ in your ‘My Documents’ folder. Can you send it to me: ‘support2(at)amabilis.com’?. (Or just attach it to a post here.) Thanks.

try regsvr32 dx8vb.dll

That fixed the error 429 that happened with my shape viewer program.

Thanks Paul, that fixed it!

That line should definitely be added to the faq, I cannot be the only person who hit this problem.

Thanks again,

Tony
