Error #429 in WinXP

Hey guys,
Thanks for all the help. I just needed to register the DAO360.DLL. It’s working now… <!– s:D –><!– s:D –>

Hi all,
I just downloaded and installed V6.6.1.0 of 3DC and when I try to run it I get the #429 error, but no specifics.

This is on an XP system with 9800PRO video card. I tried making the registry changes according to the ReadMe file, but no help there either.

Any ideas?

Les

There are a couple of suggstions in the faq section on this error, but I have also seen this error if dx8vb.dll is unregistered.

from the menu start/run option, type:

regsvr32 dx8vb.dll

This may fix the problem.

Hi Paul,
Thanks for trying to help but that didnt solve the problem.. <!– s:( –><!– s:( –>

I thought I read somewhere that WinXP already has the MDAC components built in. Is this true or no? I haven’t downloaded the MDAC because on the download page it doesnt mention WinXP anywhere, just 95, 98, and NT only. Do I still need to download and install them in XP?

Les

Hi Les,
My new system is running XP, I didnt have to download MDAC. 6.6.10 seems to be running fine so far for me. I’m on a 9200 card.
