Engineer in the Cab

Thanks.

Hello,
andnbsp; andnbsp; It’s time now to put engineers into the cabs. However, I searched the
internet a long time and dicussed with many people, still can’t find
a good human 3d model that can be put into the cab. I did find some
and some people gave me some as well, but the poly count is too high
to be used. Does anyone in this forum have this kind of model and
can lend me one? (I tried to create one by myself, but I am not good
on andquot;creatingandquot; human models).

That is an excellent suggestion. andnbsp;I hope someone takes you up on it. andnbsp;I am tempted to try, but can make no promises, as I am currently building a passenger train set, steam engine, and even more challenging; structures for 3 separate route developers. andnbsp; The route stuff is really keeping me busy.

I made one for the 3DTrains Fairmont MT-19. I was fairly satisfied with the results, but I think I could do a better job now. The driver was mostly built for cylinders and is a bit of a andquot;Frankensteinandquot; creation.

There is an andquot;Artist Figureandquot; in the model section here:

It has too many polygons, but it is useful to see how it is proportioned and how it uses andquot;bonesandquot; and inverse kinematic joints. If the body parts were replaced with simple boxes, it might might make a reasonable engineer figure. Once the figure was posed, I think you could remove the bones and set up the hierchy for MSTS export. Also, depending on the cab design, you might not need to model the figure below the waste.

I found this one from 3D Cafe, it’s a male sitting. The model has
about 900 polys, still a bit more for MSTS. However, since the
engineer is sitting in the cab, the chair can hide a lot of the polys,
so I delete some and it’s now around 400 polys (I also added a
hat).

one can use it as a prototype.

Hi All
I made a model for you guys wanting an engineer in the cab.Don’t know if it’s what you want or not.I sent it to Richard to put in the models library.
