Don’t laugh….

Yeah, I guess you’re right, but the way that the surrounding area turned out pinkinsh and rather skin-toned looking, it reminds me more of some kind of nasty skin lesion than a volcano andnbsp;;D

Been playin’ around with 3dc for a few weeks now and have just upgraded to the pro. version. Obviously I had to get povray……
Anyway – here is my first attempt at andquot;fame and fortuneandquot; …. ;D

It aint Pixar – but if anyone wants the model you can get it at

Hi Alan,

Very nice!

Any possibility that I can get a bigger version for the gallery? Say 1024×768 in BMP format?

Also, just out of curiosity. Did you render from 3DC or did you export and then make manual changes to the POV file?

Richard

Alan,
That is really a nice model!!! I especially like the detail and the mirrored wall behind him. Great effect.
Les

Laugh? andnbsp; Are you kidding? andnbsp; That thing is CUTE andnbsp;;D

I also would like to see a larger version of it, it looks cool! andnbsp;I’m going to download that for sure and play around with animating it.

It looks great!

Alan,

That’s exactly what I wanted to hear. That you had done it all in 3DC, and POVRay was andquot;justandquot; the renderer.

I got your BMP this morning. Thank you very much.

Richard

Absolutely, Alan! andnbsp; If I have any luck whatsoever I’ll send it your way. andnbsp; The skeleton/animation-type stuff I have yet to really figure out, although I’ve played with a few models that use it and it seems very cool. andnbsp;By the way, I used your .png eyeball texture to create a heightmap, with somewhat disturbing results andnbsp;:D

Les – thank you (again)

Support – thank you – yes I will send you a bmp (asap) – it was rendered direct from 3dc – but it uses povray andquot;texturesandquot; (I think that is the right term ?). Manual changes in povray – I don’t know how !!!!! (give me another 10 years to work it out) <!– s:) –><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile" /><!– s:) –>

troub – thank you – I started it with the intention of animation – but have not worked out how yet ! If you have any success can I have a look please ?

The Joys of 3D Modelling… <!– s:D –><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy" /><!– s:D –>

Thanks for the Model, I’m going to use it for testing the ExportASC Plugin, Which I’m still writing (refer : The Joys of 3D Programming andnbsp;;))

Troub,
That’s not disturbing at all. Elevate the andquot;rimandquot; area some more, make the andquot;rimandquot; more uneven, change the coloring a bit, and you would have a very nice volcano…. ;D
