default crease angle

not quite the same..

There is a built in default of 60 (pi/3) when normals are regenerated – you see this when you open the source of cylinders and make them 6 or 7 sides (7 is smooth, 6 is creased)

– andnbsp; It would just be nice if I didn’t have to run a plugin or operation each time I moved/changed an object (or applied some other operations)

Would it be possible to set a default crease angle per project?

Us andquot;low polyandquot; builders tend to use 4, 5 or 6 sided smoothed cylinders for pipes and handrails on our MSTS models.

If you move these objects around the group hierarchy, the normals get regenerated and the objects need smoothing again.

46 degrees would be perfect for most of my models <!– s:) –><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile" /><!– s:) –>

You’ve read my mind andnbsp;:) (see the attached image).

The plan for 6.0 is for every plug-in/operation to retain materials and normals wherever possible. When not possible, default materials and normals will be created. In the case of normals, the crease angle of the andquot;object propertiesandquot; will be used.

Paul,
is this the same as setting the value (current dafault is 60) in the andquot;Crease Allandquot; plug-in?
