Cylinder wrap problem

OK….Thanks for the info….guess it’s back to unwrapping cylinders(Sad)

Bazza

This has been bugging me for ages.
When I apply a texture using the Cylinder wrap it looks fine in 3DC….However after exporting the object, one of the faces appears as though the texture has been applied with a Flat wrap.

I’ve tried loading the exported model into just about everything I can think of but always get the same results.

See the attached pic.
Any ideas on how to correct this or what the problem may be….I don’t really want to have to keep doing an unwrap, although this would solve the problem.

Thanks anyone

Bazza

Hi Bazza,

Direct3D and the DirectX file format have something called ‘wrapping flags’. This texturing method needs these ‘wrapping flags’ to look correct. Most programs that import the DirectX format do not import the wrapping flags properly. And, if you exported to some other file format, the format doesn’t support wrapping flags at all.
