Crash using Extrude

I used to get regular crashes on extrude on my previous computer – an AMD Athlon based machine.
I’ve had no trouble since moving to a Intel PIII.
COuld this be the problem ?

I thought I saw this in the forum but now I can’t find it.
I’m going through the tutorials to get used to the program. During the andquot;Transforming Primitivesandquot; tutorial all is well unless I mess withe edit contrl, then crash. andquot; 3DC has caused an error in D3DRM.DLLandquot;. I have the latest driver, certified, 3D 4.23.

Is this something that happens every time you use the Extrude tool? Or does it happen infrequently? Or has it only happened once?

Richard

Probably the best bet for fixing this is to send me an example 3DC file that demonstrates this (<!– e –>richard@amabilis.com<!– e –>). Plus exact instructions on how to reproduce the error.

Richard

Early on in the extrude process, if my capture helps, going to the edit andquot;Yandquot; axis [up-down] I’ll get the error every time. I can re-enter 3dc and continue but the same thing happens.

OK, the first one I probably can do something about. Error #9. Can you reproduce it? And if you can reproduce it what are the steps required?

Thanks,

Richard
PS It is feeling like 36 hour days. But 5.0 Beta 2 is almost done now (a matter of a few days), so things will calm down.

Hello Richard,
andnbsp; andnbsp;I just have to take this opportunity to thank you for the program and your time. I’m really awed by the amazing things that can be done, and the time you must put in. I have to conclude you’ve been cloned and run on a 36 hour clock.
andnbsp; andnbsp; Anyway- this occurs, at some point, everytime. I will get a run time error-0, upon hitting enter the other errors come up. I would have gotten back sooner, but I ended up with the Dinosaur in place of the grid some how and could not get rid of it. [different tutorial]
andnbsp; andnbsp; I will expriment to see if I get the same result with different extrusions.
andnbsp; andnbsp; Any advice, gladly taken, KB.

And this one

I have an Athlon, but it turned out to be a bug that Richard thinks is fixed in the next version of 3-DC. Thanks for looking, though. andnbsp;KB
