Clipper Ship

Correct me if I’m wrong, but shouldn’t the flags on the top of the mask be pointed in the other direction? <!– s:oops: –><!– s:oops: –>

This one doesn’t use crystallac fusion, lacks lasers, and creaks as it plows the waves. No real need for this, just wanted to see what 3DC could do and what better way than creating 3DC sails.

Really nice Ken!! Have you tried to animate it? [Les Paterson’s mini tutorial] I think it would look good plowing through the seas!

Nice one.

KPT,
Excellent Clipper Ship!! andnbsp; ;D
I too would like to see it animated. Let us know.

Les

I used the Pride of Baltimore design specs as a rough plan for what I ultimately built. andnbsp;High level Pride plans may be found at [img:26r8i2ep]http://www.intandem.com/newpridesite/pride2/p2specs.html[/img:26r8i2ep]

I do plan on animating it. andnbsp;I am fiddling with the elements that can be animated. andnbsp;I want to animate the bend operation used to give the sails their shape, animate the ropes so that they are fixed to the sail and their anchor but move as the sails move, etc. andnbsp; Not sure these things are doable but I am looking into it.

Hi KPT,

I try to construct a sailing ship for over a year now (must have been version 3.x of 3DC), so I really appreciate your work. My own models shipwrecked at the cliffs called ignorance and overestimation of own abilities (‘to start off, why not the ‘Victory’?’ <!– s:P –><!– s:P –>).
Still, I learned some things, for example, that it is a good idea to have at least some basic knowledge about the thing your modeling <!– s;) –><!– s;) –>.

Regards

Klaus
