Car of the Future(maybe)

Spell checker??
WOW, What an idea!
Every time I see Les’s stuff I find an inspration- thanks, Les!

Ok everyone, I’m looking for investors. I want to build this car…. <!– s:D –><!– s:D –>

This is a two seater sports model version of the LeSair Flying Automobile. It could be powered by any engine capable of producing the required amount of torque to operate the wind turbine and produce the required amount of thrust.

This is not just a fantasy car. It could quite possibly be built and made to perform properly. If the car weighed say 2500 pounds, and each of the four(4) vertical thrusters produced 1000 pounds of thrust, voila, lift off.

The question is; how many pounds of thrust does it take to lift 2500# off the ground and maintain altitude? Any scientist out there??

Get back to me on this..hehe
Les

Wow I like this thing, it has a kinda ‘El Camino’ look to it. One thing tho, steering looks like it could be a problem as I see no ‘pectoral’ type thrusters or fins. Just a thought, I could be wrong. All in all I’d say it has serious potential. When can I have me a working model parked in my driveway? <!– s:) –><!– s:) –>

How about a few more view for all us potential investors ?(and I still think we need a spell checker on this forum <!– s:) –><!– s:) –> )

Hi guys,
Thanks for the comments.

Bobirov,
The steering is joystick controlled and all six thrusters are directional up to a point for manuevering. It of course would also have to have a thrust port in the front for braking purposes. Production will commence as soon as the checks start to come in…….hehe

Alan,
I’ll try to get a 3-way view fixed up for ya.

Les

P.S.
I still need someone to calculate thrust vs weight, or direct me towards the formula.

i like the spell checker i dea alan…
it seems you are having more fun making up what it can do than actually talking about the model… i like that approach and i too tend to do that-it just makes it more fun

Alan,
Here’s the 3-way veiw. Hope you like it. <!– s:D –><!– s:D –>

Les

looks good Les – are you going to do any more to it ?

Alan,
I was going to model a complete interior for it, but it has so many poly’s now that doing anything at all to it is very slow. Maybe when my new machine is finished.

Les
