Can anyone tell me how to?

Using the background reference image will not give you a scale drawing. It will give you an object with the correct 3 dimensional proportions. When you done with your extrude do the following:

1. select the object
2. right click to get the context menu
3. refer to your drawing for the correct x,y and z dimensions.
4. click andquot;scale to sizeandquot;
5. Enter those dimentions in the the input boxes.
Object changes to the new size and Voila!

Your object size at this point should not be wrong. It should be correct.

Hello again all

Can anyone explain to me how to keep things to scale
using a scale drawing of a model?

Here’s the deal. I have scale (O Scale) drawings of a
locomotive I am trying to model. I am trying to use the
extrude tool, and a side view of the locomotive’s frame
to get the basic frame built.

Here’s the problem I’m having.

My object is either to big, or to small, it’s never andquot;scaleandquot;.
I’m constantly re-scaling the thing(s) and as a result,
the andquot;scaleandquot; quality of this model is going down the tubes
in a hurry…

Can anyone tell me how to use a scaned image, and
have my resulting model come out in the proper andquot;scaleandquot;
footage?

Thanks for any help
Patrick

My way so far is to use a scan on the background and work to it.
Then when I want to check the model looks ok in scale I drop a scale item onto the picture ( I use a pair of wheels ) from my Object Library and resize the whole thing to the correct scale using them as a marker.
Seems to work.
