i like the idea of a colaborative effort. but we as users need to promote 3DC in bigger places. also too-even with the amount of users using it now there still isn’t a steady flow of gallerys and WIPS-i think because it is still relatively unheard of. we should expand, like i said before on this site in terms of showing work, but also to places like [img:ve29pwql]http://www.3dlinks.com[/img:ve29pwql]
3dlinks.com

or[img:ve29pwql]http://www.renderosity.com[/img:ve29pwql]
renderosity.com

where they have a section for 3DC but there is nothing in it.
we should try to get every one we can to see this stuff we post- which should be done more frequently-i mean i send i link to stuff i have made in my emails to my friends, etc so people can see what we’re doing.

like the idea of a colaborative effort though

Jeeze….What’s happening! You used to come here 3 x a day and find a WIP or someone asking a ‘stupid’ question, or a ship in progress by Les- tutorial by Alan, troub, Mel, PaulG, etc. etc. Always a model being made for fun and entertainment. Now it seems unless you’re talking about LOD’s, MSTS, lmnop, it’s uninteresting. I hate to see posts with no comment [especially mine]
Anyway, with a half million people using 3DC there must be someone with a WIP, comment, or ‘stupid’ question. Contest WIP’s?
Come on, men and women!! Surely one or two of you 1/2 million have SOMETHING! At least someone reply with an ‘awwwww…shutup’.

I take silence, in general, as a good thing. That means people are pretty happy.

The only negative is that there aren’t many models being posted which is of course a bad thing.

Also, remember that these are moderated forums so only people who have actually ‘purchased’ 3DC can post. That leaves [b:23z79d15]considerably[/b:23z79d15] fewer than the million +/- who have downloaded.

Well…I’m pretty busy with 3DC. Though I am still at version 6.04, I have alot of projects in the works. As so far, I am satesfied with my version and still learning and beefing up my skills. I have noticed that the forums are a little slow than they usually are, but that can account for alot of things with the holidays coming and such. Meanwhile…I am using 3DC on a daily basis and learning something new everyday and accomplishing something more every other day. I haven’t upgraded to the 6.5 (6.6?) version yet…I will eventually. <!– s:-) –><!– s:-) –>

i agree with kb even though i was using the freeware edition up until 2 or so months ago.

i am going to try to submit a model or WIP every week if possible. i have tons of junk i could plaster up on this site- just screwing around kind of stuff. i also have a bunch of stuff i have worked on for weeks. it is all about getting around to putting it on here.

also too a bigger gallery in terms of people seeing 3DC users work

i know that 3dlinks.com and renderosity.com- 2 of the biggest 3d communities on the net have places for 3DC stuff but nothing in them-partially i think because not too many people know about this really cool program- it is alway 3ds, lightwave, maya, or poser, short of this site there are not too many other places that 3DC is ‘a big thing’

just some thoughts – and i totally agree with KB

I agree!

Things have slack’nd in the last few weeks.
I like checking the site every day to see whats new and stuff, but some times there isn’t any for days even.

I don’t know if anybody would be interested or not but I think it would be great if 3DC useres may be got together and created a short animation or even a still, you know… a kind of project with a certain theme or something….
It will be all for the fun of coarse… it doesn’t have to be big…. any ideas? anyone?

What happened to the monthly modelling challenges?

was monthly was a bit too frequent?

I have been a bit quiet on the plugins lately due to programming work on a MS Train sim model viewer. Though I do have a couple of complex generic one (not just for trains) planned for the future.

I always found the modelling tips interesting – perhaps we could all contribute something there?

I tend to post images of my work in my own gallery (completed work and WIP) at [img:rddyusbr]http://www31.brinkster.com/decapod[/img:rddyusbr]
<!– m –>http://www31.brinkster.com/decapod<!– m –>
– all built with 3DC of course.
