A Bonzai. Everything except the tree was modelled in 3DC, rendered, and lighted in POV. All textures are 3DC with the exception of the glass texture. This image is not the finished product, I am still ‘tweaking’ the textures, and will be adding more dramatic lighting soon… I hope. The image has also lost alot in the compression.

Great stuff. <!– s:D –><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy" /><!– s:D –>

Really nice textures all round….you can have the best model in the world but if the textures are wrong the model looks ‘naff’.

I think you’ve got these spot on….maybe some kind of tranaslucancy on the rice paper walls?

Screenshot from 3DC or have you got POV working again?

That looks really good! Can’t wait to see the completed project.

This was a render from POV, the program. I do all the models in 3DC, ( this entire scene was modelled in about 20 minutes) then exported to POV.( the tree was done in POV) The original render from POV is large, and has alot of detail and is alittle softer. ( the jpeg compression ‘jaggs’ it up a bit) I dont usually use POV while I’m in 3DC, I prefer to export everything into POV itself to do my rendering. Glad you guys like it…I’m trying to do a few ‘quick’ scenes so there may be a few more things coming soon….

I use RealDraw to convert the BMP to JPEG. It allows you to adjust the sharpness and quality of the image, so you can get rid of some of the jagged edges, or at least reduce the jaggedness.
