Woops!
Documentation on the Bend operation is located here: [img:117kouys]http://www.amabilisplus.com/3DCDocumentation/operation.htm[/img:117kouys]

As with all andquot;Deformandquot; operations the Bend operation only changes the shape of an object not add new points/divide etc.

I may be stupid, but I have not been able to get the bend operation to work. Could someone explain in simple terms how to do it?
This is all I have achieved so far?

All I want to do is bend the cylinder to follow that profile.
Thanks – Mike.

That’s the correct result if you’re just using a normal cylinder. To match the profile, your cylinder should have more than one vertical division.
Try this…drop a cylinder into the scene, then extrude one of its endcaps several times, and then do the new Bend operation again. The extra sections will make a difference.

and last of all…dont forget to set the degree you want…
just right click on the bend tool and then set the degree you want and if you want box or cylinder…
and thats it…
let me know if that helps.

P.S. its preset at 45 degrees.

another way would be to double click on your cylinder and increase the latitude figure to, say, 8 then try the bend operation.

Here is a pic with the use of the 90 degrees as to the 45 degrees in the other pic.

Hi maximus
First you want to divide your object…..divide about 3 times or so….like in the pic
right click on your object then left click on divide.

Changing the latitude is the best way. Dividing creates 5 times as many faces.

Hi All,
Many thanks for those explanations, now I have no problems with bending.
Unfortunately, the help file takes you to the Warp operation if you click on Bend, and I could not find any information at all on how to actually use the bend.
Mike.
