That depends on what the final application is. For video games this can be good in many situations but for movies it makes life A LOT easier.

How about implementing a sound sheet that will allow users to sync their animations up with sounds. That could work wonders for character animation quality that can be produced from 3dc.

Just a thought tho wouldn’t it be alot easier to control the sound in the final application instead?
