It’s not possible. But you can add faces/Points after a group selection by changing to face/point mode and ctrl-selecting.

Aaah! That’s how it’s done. My life is so much better now. My brain never thinks to ctrl-click things, since I use photoshop so much it only thinks shift-click.

The ability to add/subtract from a selection with the Group Selection Tool wasn’t specifically a request, but it will be in 3DC 7.2.
