add a point/divide face

Try selecting the new point, then press ‘Ctrl’ and select the point at the top of the triangle and then press the button on the left hand panel that creates a new line between two points (can’t remember what it is called offhand). That will divide the triangle into two and moving the bottom point around should do what you are wanting.

Somehow I subtracted the point that belongs on the lest side. ]:( (As demonstrated in red lines and point)

Can I somehow divide the existing face on the left to make it look like the point/face on the right?

I was able to make a new point by selecting the line on the bottom of the face and using the andquot;divide toolandquot;, but how do I get that point to be recognized as a new part of the faces. andnbsp; In other words, the existing triangle/face remained stationary, even when I moved the newly created point around. I also andnbsp;tried to select the entire face, and use the andquot;divide toolandquot; but that crashed the program.

Thanks

I know what you mean, I am still finding things like that too. I started with version 4.2 a year ago, and it has changed a lot since then. I am only just starting to use the Train Sim Wizard, and finding it a great help.

Are you refering to the triangulate button?

It is called the andquot;create edgeandquot; tool, and it works. Thank you very much. You also answered my question in another post… how to select faces. I had been using the andquot;shiftandquot; key and it doesn’t allow you to add more selections after you stop. The andquot;ctrlandquot; key does.

Double Thanks

PS… I’ve spent about 20 minutes using this operation to clean up some items on my engine, along with the andquot;CTRL – selectionandquot; operation. andnbsp; This forum is so useful. andnbsp; There are so many things I do the hard way, then find out Richard had already thought of that!
