In response to a request from some new 3DC users I’ve started a series of detailed tutorials on building some simple building shapes with a view to exporting to Rail Simulator.
Here’s the link:

Hi,
Please advise where I am going wrong. I’m trying to extrude the side of the roof, but it extrudes straight rather than follow the angle of the roof.
Thanks
Shaun

Hi Shaun,
I suspect the first extrude of the roof to give it thickness has left you with vertical faces on the edges.
Go Back to that operation in the operations list and uncheck ‘Extrude using face direction’
Then move back to the last operation in the lits (top)
