8.2.7.build 1118 Edge Loop (resolved)

Cannot get Edge Loop to work.
When I right click on an edge, Edge Loop stays grayed out.

In version 7 it worked like this.

Or has something changed in version 8.?

Hi Gerrit,

If you have a moment – what’s an "Edge Loop" do ???

Regards,
Scott

Hi Scott,

With Edge Loop you can easily select all the edges around a cylinder.
Right click on one of the edges and select/Edge Loop.

See example below

After that, highlight one of the selected edges, right click and select/Faces.
All the faces surrounding the selected edge loop, will be selected.
This is handy to texture the wheel rim.

See next example below

Hi Gerrit,

Thanks buddy – I’ve been doing it the hard way all this time !!!

I keep learning something new every day – appreciate the detailed response…

Have a good day…

Regards,
Scott

yes well I have been doing points and edges the hard way as well, now where in the manual does it tell us about those neat little functions. The select points etc are totally useful. Not sure why the edge ones not working, but lets hope that its fixed as I can see a heap uses for that.

regards peter

Well… I always thought they were useful. <!– s:) –><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile" /><!– s:) –> I have one other idea, for the upcoming version 9.

This is fixed for the next release.
