5.7 Lathe freeze-up

I know how it is. Something goes wrong and the first thing you think is that the latest thing installed messed things up.

andnbsp;I just installed 5.7, did Les’s tutorial on his fighter, then went on to experiment on a model. When playing with the lathe operation, clicked andquot;NOandquot; when asked to keep the lathe operation, then the wheels came off. Everything froze. Had to manually restart, accessed e-mail, clicked on 3-D 3DC-freeze up. Then it would freeze up just starting the coputer.
andnbsp;Somehow, last night, my wife was able to get the computer to stay on long enough to go to a restore point.
andnbsp;I’ve locked up the computer befor and was able to andquot;ctl-alt-deleteandquot; my way out of it, but nothing like this.
andnbsp;I’m at the point where I have to install 3DC again so unless some one has a clue as to what happened, I think I should go back to 5.6. Sony Vaio-1.6G-NVidea TNT 64-256mb

andnbsp;Sony said I may have a bad chip somewhere and it’s going in to the shop. Just a coincidence it happening at that time. A small fire or at least some smoke would have made it clearer.

I’m not having any problems with this. It appears to be OK as far as I can tell.
