3ds export

Scale it smaller?
But then I’m not sure if size should make a difference. It’s probably more like polygon count that counts and not physical size. Does 3DC crash when you export or the app that you import it into?

There seems to be a problem with the 3ds export. When i try to export a scene, it crashes. Is there a limit to the size an object can be to export? I am trying to export a huge level for my game, and usually the export works on levels, but this one is bigger than the previous ones. any ideas?

Simon

Its not that the scene is detailed, its just that its very large. (i.e you can barely see the grid)
So theres nothing you can do?

Simon

I don’t actually know much about the restrictions in the 3DS export (I didn’t write it). Could you try temporarily removing some details to see if it will export?

Is it possible to split this scene up into sections?

Well, the export import thing worked. Hopefully you can fix the 3ds export for 4.5. Good luck!

Simon,

You could try exporting the file to X, re-importing to 3DC and then exporting to 3DS.

BTW, I am andquot;hopingandquot; do something about the 3DS export for the upcoming 4.5, but I can’t say for sure yet. I’m still looking into it.

Richard

Well, does anyone know of a free x to 3ds converter? It doesnt need to be able to convert materials, just poly.

Simon

3DC crashes when I export. The Scene is only 500 poly or so, so i really doubt its too many poly. Usually it works, so i have tried rebooting, but it hasnt seemed to work. Any suggestions?
