3DC seems like the one

Oh Hi Shawn, I remember you from Hex. I saw some of your Hexagon train models, very impressive.

I ordered Trainz ’09 today, and await delivery of my 3DC Pro. See you around!

Greetings all. I have been looking around at some of the andlt;$100 modelers and game editors out there to spend my Christmas money on, and I really like the free version of 3dC, and since the full versions has POV-Ray rendering, Terrains, Scripting, and many additional advanced mod features, it`s looking like it`s the one.

Another contender would have been Carrara Standard as an upgrade from Carrara 3d Express for $111. But since I also have Carrara 3d basic, I wasn`t in that much of a rush to get the Christmas deal. since Daz will have another deal down the road.

I tried some free versions like 3d Pilot, MilkShape, DeleD LITE, and GMax. They all are capable of producing some decent models but did not have the drag and drop action of 3dC. With the exception of GMax, there did not seem to be much right click and wheel support. Although I really did like the dynamic surfacing editing features of GMAX.
I do architectural drafting and rendering with TurboCAD and ArchiCAD, so will add 3dc to my arsenal on Monday

See you around
Craig

Bazza

I model in Hexagon and other 3D apps and plan to use 3DC Pro to convert my models for use in Rail Simulator.
