It worked for me…….
After you make the camera clear(er) move it to 0,0,0 and then rightclick it and save (to *.x) from there…….
I think that exporting from the menu might add some extra bits ?
Or if you want I can send my camera.x ?
Alan
ps. I should of warned you to make a backup first….sorry.

Hi. Is there a way to have these buttons turned off automatically when I start 3DC?
– [b:18k2xts8]Visible Camera[/b:18k2xts8]
– [b:18k2xts8]Visible Skeleton Bones[/b:18k2xts8]
– [b:18k2xts8]Visible Lights[/b:18k2xts8]
Not that I don’t like them, but they seem to be in my line of view at the most inopportune times. Whenever I start 3DC, my first three clicks are always to depress those buttons.
Also, can I have all the [b:18k2xts8]Constrain Axis[/b:18k2xts8] buttons turned on every time I start 3DC? I usually end up moving a point or face in the wrong direction before I realize that I wanted to constrain my x-axis movement or something and have to undo my action.
Thanks for your help. I’m hard at work building my first rail car for MSTS. When it’s presentable, I’ll post a shot. <!– s:) –><!– s:) –>

It’s a good thing I made a backup of the CAMERA.X file. I imported it into 3DC and textured it with an 85% translucency color and then exported it back into CAMERA.X. It looked fine to me. The filesize was much bigger (33k) than the original CAMERA.X file (10k). I think the original was compressed or something because it was not readable in WordPad – my new exported CAMERA.X file was readable.
Anyway, I closed 3DC and restarted it. It started to load but then gave me a raspberry sounding noise <!– s:P –><!– s:P –> and just quit. It didn’t lock up or anything – just disappeared. I restored the original CAMERA.X and everthing was fine again.
I tried removing the CAMERA.X file altogether but then 3DC thought I had an incomplete installation and wanted to install itself again.
Messing with system files makes me nervous! andnbsp;???

Thanks, Alan! I’ll give that a try. If I can make them mostly invisible, that would be a step in right direction. andnbsp;
I will make backups of any files I try to change to be on the safe side.

I don’t think so….
Maybe you could remodel the *.x files in the system folder to make them smaller/translucent ?
I know it don’t answer your question – but it does allow you to see through these objects….
So another useless answer from Alan…

That’s got it now, Alan. Thanks! I’ll leave myself a little note on how to undo what I did. That way when I need the camera for animation or other things, I’ll know how to put it back.
Thanks again.
