This message got lost with the new forum. I’m having troubles with the new Catalyst drivers from ATI. 3.7 works well with 3DC but 3.8 and 3.9 don’t. When initialising the views the computer crashes with blue screen and tells me that there are driver problems with the ATI drivers. Does anybody know of a trick or a fine-tuning which makes 3DC run on 3.9 catalyst drivers? With the 3.7 one must not enable ‘Render Shadows’. Apart from this it works well.

I have a Radeon and Catalyst 3.8 installed. Unfortunately the latest drivers won’t even install on my computer. I spend a couple of hours trying to coax them to install but without any luck.
Turning on shadows doesn’t cause any problems with the 3.8 dirvers and I haven’t had any other stability problems.

I tried 3.8 drivers again but no luck: the machine crashes completely with blue screen etc.
On the other hand I’ve no problem installing and using 3.9 drivers with the one exception 3DC. Guess I have to live with 3.7.

Definitely something odd with the 3.9 drivers.
My MSTS S file viewing utility fails to work correctly for some people with 3.9 installed.
The 3.7 version works correctly.

I thought I would never get 3DC to work but it seems my problems were also caused by switching on ‘render shadows’. Without shadows everything seems to work just fine, click to render shadows and the program either freezes or dumps me back in XP.
According to my pc my Radeon 9600 driver version is 16.14.10.6375.
