3DC 9.1: Cannot set transparency to 100% (resolved)

For the TS2012 rain effect on the glasses, I need to set transparency (value between primary texture and bum map texture) to 100%.
It is set to 50% and cannot be changed.

Actually, setting to 100% is not necessary for the rain effect. However, it should be possible to change the value.

Can you clarify this for me. Where on the material palette is this?

You can check on the model I sent to you a few days ago: Select a shape, go in the component properties and try to change the value.

Where is this on the Material Palette? I don’t understand.

The question is not about the material palette.

From my model, the transparency % is the only value that cannot be changed whatever the default value in the material palette.

I still don’t understand. Please explain what you are doing step by step, what the result is, and what you actually think should happen. Thanks.

1) Select shape (see attached image)
2) Select value "50"(see attached image)
3) Change it to 100
4) Enter
5) Value is back to 50

Ok. I understand now.

It doesn’t quite happen as you describe for me. I have to click on the scene somewhere to have it not register. But you are right that "enter" does nothing. You need to tab. But, this might be different depending on the specifics of the material you are using.

Does what you describe happen when you change Diffuse etc?

Whatever tab or enter, no change. The value sticks to 50.

With all other attributes, changing the value, using enter or tab, is properly taken into account.

In the example you provided, there was no secondary texture. This value only makes sense when there is a secondary texture, since it is the blend value between the primary and secondary texture.

My message started from seeing this post[/url:2xqlquvw].
No secondary texture but version 7.x.

Now I undertand what this is used for.

So, all is well then, if I understand things. So I’ll call this resolved.
