3DC 6.0 Wish List

How about a cleaner Wavefront export? This would be nice if 3DC will not triangulate four point faces.

Seravajan

Seravajan,

I just updated 3DC 5.5c Revision 5 andnbsp;to not triangulate OBJ on export.

OK Thank you! <!– s:) –><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile" /><!– s:) –> I’ll test this.

I guess I should have said Seravajan/Alex <!– s:) –><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile" /><!– s:) –>

I got some more ideas for version 6.0…….
Since I have been thinking on them I thought that I would jot them down. andnbsp; Some these might be beyond version 6.

I have been think more along high ploygon animation so keep that in mind.

Effects:
Gravity- Would effect objects of your choice.
Wind- Would cause things to move(ex. hair, flags, etc)
Waves- Useful for animating flags, water ,etc.

The ablility to create multiple objects:
Hair/grass- My hope is that the new direct x will support
this. andnbsp;I think that the new chips can hardware accelarate this? andnbsp;I don’t know I would like to know if any body does know for sure.

Animation:
Premade routinues for walking, running, jumping.
Object colision dectection.
Paths that could be set for the characters to run on.(ex. You tell your character to run and you jeust set a path for it to run on).

These ideas may be way out there but well they where just in my mind. andnbsp; So I thought that I might share them.

A couple of comments:

]5) …

]Finally, having a default 30 fps instead of 10 fps would ]be more comfortable since this is the most usual rate ]both for AVIs and for game engines.

The rate at which AVIs are rendered is irrelevant to this since of course 3DC does interpolation between keyframes.

]6) grid position: the default grid origin is at the bottom ]left corner of the grid. It would be more comfortable to ]have the default grid origin at the center of the grid, ]and the grid centered on the scene.

This can be changed to whereever you want via the options menu.
