121 poll ? (121 welcome)

I couldn’t get into the forums for 3 weeks and I’ve missed all the exitement!!
I agree with both of your comments and would welcome this idea so long as it was easy for newcomers to the forum to understand.

I’ve just read through the relevant posts made by Alex and V_F and would like to make my thoughts known.
Obviously Alex is very down to earth with his remarks and jumps in booth feet!
I think though one thing has been overlooked here and that is BJORN’s remarks on his first post ‘it had taken him many days to get this far’.
Now I think we have all been here. After days of work you look at the model and think ‘well I’m not sure if this is correct or something looks wrong’
I think it probably took a lot of courage on Bjorns part to post the model in this unfinished state and what he was hoping for was some constructive advice.
So Alex, while I wouldn’t have taken offence at your remarks I feel in this case they were a bit over the top. I think from your remarks we are in fact a bit alike (short fused so to speak) but I have mellowed with age and try to keep it under control.I’m 60 years old this year. <!– s:o –><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_surprised.gif" alt=":o" title="Surprised" /><!– s:o –>
I’ve just re-read this post and think the spell checker is another great idea!!

An excellent idea. This way of ‘grading comments’ would be a good method of giving differing feedback between a beginner or advanced modeler. An advanced creator can ask for a more honest critique, whilst we can also add postivite feedback and assistance to people who have started building or who need to refine their skills. The main key here I believe is to create an environment whereby people are not frightened to post their work or ask for help in any aspect of model building, no matter what it is they are creating.

I don’t know how others feel about the above, but I for one know that I would not have progressed to the stage of attempting bigger and better things without positive help and suggestions along the way. I am sure we’ve all gone through stages in building when we’ve felt like nothing was going to plan, when someone suggested a way to solve or fix a certain problem.
