I’ve released a new beta of 9.2.2. I hope this will end up being the released version. Any feedback on the new version would be appreciated.

Hi. I’ve installed Version 9.2.2 Build 1546 and did a few things. Nothing extensive. I opened a few models, changed a couple of things, saved the files, re-opened them, created a couple of POV snapshots. Everything I did worked OK. I did happen to notice that despite installing in the same directory each time, I have 3 separate versions in my Control Panel – Uninstall Programs. I imagine that’s normal behavior? Thanks!
Andrew
Thanks. Good to know.
Actually, the Control Panel should only have one entry. I am pretty sure I know why there are multiples. I’ll try to make sure it doesn’t happen again.
If I understand this problem, you are planing to use the same product code for different versions? If so are you going to do this for just minor upgrades or all upgrades? I don’t want to lose 9.1 if I install 9.2.
OK, so under Scripts it lists the last four scripts I used. In this case I have DoubleSide in slot 1. If I click on it 3DC crashes. This is probably because I don’t have any scripts for 9.2.2 (whereas I do have them for 9.1).
It looks like you are reading the list from the same place for all versions, which is OK, but you should add a try/catch around the call to launch the script so you can tell the user “oops you really can’t do that because its not there!”.
Agreed.
Ouch. Unable to Configure DirectX.
I know its there, and this problem does not happen with 9.1.
This happened when I used the ‘Zoom the view in and out’ button and tried to use it on the model. What is more interesting is that if I reload the same model the problem did not happen again.
It must be something related to the order in which things were done. Should be easy to fix once I figure out what order to use to make it break.
I’ll see if I can repro again. It may have to do with the fact that the model was original created in 9.1.2.
Using the Train Simulator Wizard does not produce a RailWorks IGS file on completion, in 9.2.2. The same model will export correctly in 9.1.2.
Yes, I stepped through the wizard, and got the nice message box at the end telling me where the file was suppose to be.
I’ll have a look.
I tried it an it worked OK. I’m wondering if maybe it is exporting to a folder that isn’t writeable. That’s the most likely cause.
It was the same folder that 9.1.2 exports to (My documents).
OK, so I am trying again (using File > Export > IGS), but this time its a nasty crash. No error number just the OS telling me that the app went south. There is some information in the event log. The same model does not crash in 9.1.2, hope it helps:

A bit more info. I do not have MSVBVM60.DLL (6.0.98.15) in my system32 folder. I do have it in my SysWOW64 and the side by side cache:
C:\Windows\winsxs\x86_microsoft-windows-msvbvm60_31bf3856ad364e35_6.1.7600.16385_none_c25a1af6b30d72ee
Placing this file in my system32 does not help. It produces the same error.
Sorry for the delay in responding. Gee. I really don’t know. Maybe it’s time to revert to the 9.1.2 temporarily. It can be downloaded here: http://amabilis.com/downloads/3DCrafter91.msi
